There is a big push for unattended funerals at the moment, but this does not have to be the only way to conduct a funeral service.
For example, you an consider that:
- A hearse does not have to be used for transport – there are man forms of transport more suited to the person
- A cremation service does not have to be held at a crematorium – there are many more places designated for cremation
- A family can lead the service themselves
If you want to keep it simple, you can also make it a very intimate memorial service, with very few people in attendance. But equally, you can keep things more ceremonious.
Direct cremation is also a highly popular type of funeral, whereby the cremation is unattended and the family can choose to have a memorial service separate or not at all.
In today’s society, there are no set traditions for a funeral, you can have it exactly as you want it and you can have as little or as few attendees as you wish, or even none if you want it.
